2023 World Sight Day Challenge- “Help Bring Sight to Those in Need”
World Sight Day to be celebrated on October 12.
Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) has just launched an important campaign to help people see better around the world. Their mission is to fix eye problems and make sure everyone can see clearly. They’re doing this by growing and spreading optometry, which is all about eye care.
This year’s challenge is called the “World Sight Day Challenge.” It’s a big event that happens every year to raise money. The theme for this year is “Giving Together, Seeing Forever.” This theme celebrates how people who know about eye care, like optometrists, can join forces to give the incredible gift of clear vision to many people who need it.
Lois Schoenbrun, the Executive Director of Optometry Giving Sight, says that most of the projects they support are paid for by eye care professionals, like optometrists, and companies in the eye care industry. The money they collect helps provide eye care to families—moms, dads, kids, grandparents, and more. They can only do this with the help of other families, whether it’s the family at home, in an optometry practice with patients and staff, or at a company.
2023 World Sight Day Challenge
The World Sight Day Challenge started now and will go on until the end of October. The main day for the challenge is October 12. If you’re interested, you can lead fundraising at your own optometry practice or company. You can visit givingsight.org/wsdc to sign up and get helpful tools and ideas.
Greg Pearl, an optometrist from California, says that in some parts of the world where people don’t have good access to eye care, even the simplest eye checkup can change lives. Kids can stay in school, and adults can work to support their families. Optometrists like him are the ones who can make this happen. If all of them donated just one day’s fees, it could make a huge difference.
With the money they raise, Optometry Giving Sight supports programs that find long-term solutions. They help set up optometry schools, vision centers, and eye care labs in places where people don’t have easy access to eye care. They also educate and train people to become optometrists so they can provide eye care for years to come.
Optometry Giving Sight has been doing amazing work for over 20 years. They’ve helped more than 8 million people with eye care, trained over 14,000 eye care workers, and created more than 130 vision centers in more than 40 countries. In the last two years, they’ve given over $1.5 million in grants to projects around the world.
Let’s spread the word about this amazing ” 2023 World Sight Day Challenge ” and help make the world a clearer place for everyone. Share this message with your friends and family!”
